2026 International Conference of Undergraduate Research

2026 International Conference of Undergraduate Research

Call for abstracts

Present your research to a global audience!

ICUR is a year-round program of training and support for academic and professional development, from abstract submission through to presentation. It is an internationally immersive opportunity for students to network with and learn from the perspectives of likeminded undergraduates from all over the world — crucially, without students needing to travel internationally in order to benefit from these experiences and connections. Above all, it is a supportive yet rigorous research experience, helping students to develop their confidence and professional skills in communication, presentation, and engagement.

WashU students are invited to participate in the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR), an annual, two-day academic conference that showcases excellence in undergraduate research from around the world. It’s a unique opportunity to present your research to interdisciplinary audiences across international borders in real-time, video-linked sessions from your home campus — and a supportive, yet rigorous environment to develop your confidence and your professional skills in communication, presentation, and engagement. Students of all majors, with projects from all disciplinary backgrounds, are welcome to apply.

We are now accepting all submissions for ICUR 2026. Complete your submission before March 30, 2026, and we’ll take it forward to our abstract review, where you’ll receive supportive individual feedback and guidance on how to develop your abstract. Accepted presenters will also have access to support throughout the year, including professional and academic development, communication and engagement training, and peer mentorship!

Since the conference will take place in late September 2026, you must be an enrolled WashU student in the fall to apply and participate in the conference. Research projects proposed for presentation can be works in progress or completed, and should be under the advisement and direction of a faculty mentor and/or structured research program.

Visit the ICUR Portal for more information on the International Conference of Undergraduate Research, the ICUR 2026 event, and our resources, training, and opportunities.
