Summer Faculty Research Grants
Summer Faculty Research Grants (FRG) enable successful applicants to conduct scholarly work and research during the summer. Eligible faculty may also submit applications for the Roland Grimm Travel Award (October 2025 deadline) and the Summer Research Seed Grant (February 2026 deadline). Faculty applying for both the FRG and Summer Research Seed Grant will be awarded only one of the grants.

Grant amount: Up to $7,000
Application deadline: Friday, October 24, 11:59 pm CDT
Award notification: By December 5
Grant period: May 15–August 31. Research must be conducted for at least eight weeks, not necessarily consecutive, during the grant period.
Eligibility: Tenured or tenure-track Washington University faculty in the humanities and humanistic social sciences
