Probably bell hooks' Teaching Community, which was required reading for a course in my Women & Gender Studies undergrad major.
The Color of Law: A forgotten history of how our government segregated America by Richard Rothstein. I recommend watching the documentary, The Pruitt-Igoe Myth as well, if you haven't seen it (for free on vimeo).
