The 2026 Biggs Family Resident in Classics will be Elizabeth Meyer of The University of Virginia. Professor Meyer specializes in Greek and Roman political and social history, particularly in relation to law. Her research explores the intersections of legal and documentary practices in the ancient world, with a focus on Roman law, literacy, manumission, and epigraphic traditions.
