WashU Reads Han Kang: A Celebration

A celebration of South Korean novelist Han Kang, winner of this year’s Nobel Prize in Literature, “for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life.”

The event will feature Paige Morris, one of the co-translators of Han's most recent work We Do Not Part 작별하지 않는다 (available Feb. 2025 from Penguin Random House). 

Please join us for an evening of bilingual readings from Han’s major works by undergraduate and graduate students at WashU, followed by discussions and a Q&A with the translator.

Bio:
Paige Aniyah Morris is a writer and translator from Jersey City, NJ. She holds BAs in Literary Arts and Ethnic Studies from Brown University and an MFA in Fiction from Rutgers University. The winner of awards from the Fulbright Program, the American Literary Translators Association, the Literature Translation Institute of Korea, the Daesan Foundation, and more, she has translated several works of Korean literature across various genres with a focus on speculative fiction and stories from the social margins. Along with e. yaewon, she is the co-translator of Han Kang's WE DO NOT PART.
