One-time discussion of “Who’s Afraid of Gender?” by Faculty Book Celebration keynote speaker Judith Butler

In anticipation of  Judith Butler’s keynote lecture at the Faculty Book Celebration on February 3, graduate students are invited to join a one-time discussion of Butler’s latest work, Who’s Afraid of Gender?, led by current doctoral candidate in literature, Gabriel Ridout.

In Who’s Afraid of Gender?, Butler usefully exposes the intellectual bankruptcy and “moral sadism” of the anti-gender crusade that has gripped religious, political and cultural institutions globally. More than a diagnosis, Butler’s latest is a clear and compelling handbook for how to counter today’s anti-trans panic by collectively imagining new modes of thinking and living in relation to gender and gender-variance.

Please RSVP  by clicking the button below to attend so that we are certain to have enough space and refreshments for everyone! The first 10 registrants will receive a free copy of Who's Afraid of Gender?
