Scholarly Writing Retreat 2020

For faculty, post-docs and graduate students in the humanities and humanistic social sciences

The Scholarly Writing Retreat offers Washington University humanities and humanistic social sciences faculty, post-docs and graduate students the opportunity to jump-start their summer writing in a motivated, supportive and collaborative atmosphere, even as we are spread out in our own work spaces while the campus is closed. Participants will work intensively on their individual projects, following a schedule of check-ins, focused writing periods and virtual communal breaks. We will update this page with additional details as the new online format is finalized.

The humanities center will host periodic online group meetings to provide a forum to exchange ideas, support one another and engage in social interaction.

Monday–Friday, May 18–22; Tuesday–Friday, May 26–29

No meeting on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Participants are not required to attend the entire duration of the retreat.

Daily schedule

9 am–4 pm, with scheduled virtual communal breaks
